About the village:
The flat is in a village called Nueva.
Nueva is a small village (700 inhabitants) that belongs to Llanes municipality, in the Asturias region. It is located in the North of Spain, on the Cantabrian see coast. Nueva is a very peaceful place but lively and with all the facilities of a big city: supermarkets, bakery, butcher`s shop, small stores,.,, you will find anything you need in the village without the need to take the car for the daily shopping. On top, every Saturday there is an itinerant market. The village have also many bars and restaurant were you will enjoy the local gastronomy (see Gastronomy section).

In Nueva you will also find a Pharmacy, a Public helth center, a Public Library with free internet wifi access.

The village is situated within walking distance (2 kms) to the village`s Beach called `Cuevas de Mar` and have the `Picos de Europa` mountain on its back. You cannot ask more: Mountain and Beach all in one!!!!

Nueva counts with a lively community that organizes 4 yearly regional fests:

-7th-8th September: `Fiesta de Nuestra Sra. Virgen de la Blanca`
-13th-14th September: `Fiesta del Santo Cristo del Amparo`
-5th August: `Fiesta de Nuestra Sra. de El Henar`
-Last july weekend: `Fiesta de San Juanon`
On top, during the summer time you will find daily free outside activities, like regional music concerts, lyric concerts, entertainment for kids, �

Local Gastronomy :
Due to the fact that the region is in the shore of the Cantabrian coast, and on the base of the Picos de Europa mountains, it is rich both in sea food and meat of the highest quality of Spain. On the other hand the weather conditions allow the growing of excellent land products.
There are six Asturian products that have a designation of origin. Enjoy them:

� Cider: t is made from apple varieties traditionally cultivated to make cider in the protected production area, which comprises the Principality of Asturias` 78 city councils. It is obtained from the total or partial alcoholic fermentation of the fresh apple or its juice.
� Asturian Bean (`Fabada`): It`s a dry bean from the Granja Asturiana variety. The bean, once cooked, must stay whole, with a smooth skin, and have a soft texture with a buttery taste that`s barely or not at all grainy and floury.
� Cabrales Cheese
� Afuega`l Pitu Cheese
� Gamon�u Cheese
� Cas�n Cheese

-Asturian Veal: Meat labelled as `Ternera Asturiana` PGI comes from animals belonging to the Principality of Asturias` two autochthonous breeds: Asturiana de los Valles (roxa breed) and Asturiana de las Monta�as (casina breed), which are accustomed to this territory since immemorial times, contributing to the creation of the landscape and becoming a part of its culture

-From the sea: As a fishing village, Llanes stands out because of its seafood dishes from the Cantabric Sea. Here are a few examples: - andaricas (crabs), centollos, (spider crabs) bugres (lobsters) � and rock fish, both baked and grilled � There is also the popular x�ragu fish(jargo), mullet, cabracho or scorpion fish, pixin (monk fish), besugo (sea bream) lubina (bass), either soup or stew, -and all the varieties of tuna, the star of summer together with anchovies and squid, not to mention those beautiful semi-preserved anchovies from Llanes.

-Flour and maize are important part of gastronomic tradition and culture in Llanes. `los tortos`, `la borona` o `el pantruque` are the most known dishes.

There is an endless variety of outdoor sport activities that you can practise by your own or in a group. There are many agencies in the area that will guide you through any of them

Beaches
Nueva Village has its own beach called `Cuevas the mar`. Besides, Llanes has the greatest number of beaches of any municipality in Asturias. The beaches are situated along the 56km of coastline in the borough of Llanes.

There are beaches to suit every taste: near the town and well populated, out in the wilds and seldom visited, large, small, open and enclosed, sheltered or open to the weather, with or without a river, sandy, rocky etc. Year after year the beaches of Llanes are distinguished by the blue flag award. In addition, the beach at Tor� has been awarded the Q for Quality award.
